Connor Rutledge
6-8th Grade Teacher
Bio
Connor Rutledge received his Bachelor’s in Education and History at York University in Toronto, Ontario. He then married his wife, Shay, in May of 2022 and relocated to Iowa, where he joined in a happy fellowship at her home church of Marion Gospel Hall. Connor is excited to be educating students with a Christian worldview and to share his love for the Lord with everyone.
Connor felt a calling into the world of teaching from a young age. He enjoyed his school experiences, both in academics and extracurricular activities, and his desire is for all students to have a similar experience. Connor believes strongly in what Calvary Christian Academy’s purpose is and feels blessed to be able to join on this educational journey with them.
In his spare time, Connor enjoys spending time with his wife and his Bernese Mountain dogs. He also enjoys involving himself in hobbies such as playing guitar, participating in the Cedar Rapids soccer league, reading, and spending time outdoors. He likes trying new things so he is always looking for his next adventure.
Connor loves to encourage all that are around him. A verse that he lives by is Luke 1:37.
For with God, nothing shall be impossible.
Luke 1:37
His desire is to implement this core belief in his teaching and to show students that they should not be afraid to fail, but instead, be encouraged that with God, they can overcome anything. Connor feels that God has called him to this role and is excited to see what else the Lord has in store for the future.
