Bio
Cal received her Bachelor’s in Education at Mount Mercy University here in Cedar Rapids. In college, Cal was very involved in the Salt Company, Veritas Church’s college ministry. There she met her husband, Von, and they married in February of 2022. Cal and Von continue to be active members at Veritas Church. Cal is looking forward to teaching 1st grade at Calvary Christian Academy!
From a young age, Cal had a deep desire in her heart to help those around her. This desire led her to teaching! One of the most important things to Cal is that her students are nurtured and cared for in her classroom. Cal is excited to continue this at Calvary, where she has the opportunity to take that idea one step further by sharing the gospel with her students. Through this, she can share with her students that they are loved and cared for not only by her, but also by their awesome Creator!
But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ–by grace you have been saved.
Ephesians 2:4-5
Even though we were dead in our sins, Our Father and Creator still reached out to us in love and gave us new life! Cal is thrilled to share this Good News with her students through word and deed in her classroom. It is Cal’s hope and prayer that her students will come to know His perfect love we have been graciously given and step into their new lives with Christ!
